Planned roadworks in and around the M25: Weekly summary for Monday 27 April to Sunday 3 May 2015

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 24 April 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junction 5, Hertfordshire: carriageway repair

The northbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 28 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the entry slip road via junction 4, the A41, Spur Road roundabout and return. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the exit slip road via junction 6.

M1 junction 6a, Hertfordshire: bridge joint replacement work

The southbound link road to the M25 anti-clockwise will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 9am, on Saturday 2 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 5, and the A41 to join the M25 at junction 20.

M4 junctions 3 to 4, Greater London: carriageway resurfacing

The eastbound carriageway and junction 4 entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, for five nights from Monday 27 April. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M4 Spur road, the A4 and A312.

M11 junction 4, Redbridge: carriageway sweeping

The southbound link road to the eastbound A406 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 30 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Waterworks roundabout.

The southbound link road to the westbound A406 will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 5am, on Friday 1 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A406 and the Redbridge roundabout.

M11 junction 5, Loughton, Essex: carriageway sweeping

The southbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 28 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1168, A121, A104 and A406.

M20/A20 junction 1, Kent: litter clearance

The eastbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 5am, on Friday 1 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M20/A20 to Crittalls Corner and return.

M25 junction 4, Surrey: electrical work

The clockwise carriageway between the exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Wednesday 29 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the junction 4 roundabout.

M25 junction 7, Surrey: structure maintenance

The anti-clockwise link roads to both M23 carriageways will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, for five nights from Monday 27 April. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 6.

M25 junction 11, Woking, Surrey: lining and stud work

The anti-clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, for five nights from Monday 27 April. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via junction 13. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via junction 10.

M25 junction 12, Surrey: major improvement scheme

The clockwise and anti-clockwise link roads to the M3 westbound will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 5.30am, from Monday 27 April for four nights. It will also be closed between 10pm and 6am on Friday 1 May, between 9pm and 6am on Saturday 2 May and between 10pm and 5.30am on Sunday 3 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 13, the A30, and A223 to join the M3 at junction 3.

M25 junctions 21a to 20, Hertfordshire: bridge joint replacement work

The anti-clockwise carriageway including the dedicated link road to the M1 northbound and junction 21a anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 9am, on Saturday 2 May. A clearly signed diversion for traffic wishing to use the M1 northbound will be in place via junction 21a, the A405 and A414. A clearly signed diversion for the anti-clockwise carriageway and junction 21a entry slip road will be in place via the A405 and A41.

M25 junction 28, Essex: resurfacing

The clockwise dedicated link road to the A12 eastbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, for five nights from Monday 27 April. A clearly signed diversion will be available via the junction 28 roundabout.

M25 junction 31, Essex: Dart Charge construction work

The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, for two nights from Tuesday 28 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 30.

M26 junction 2a to M25, Kent: resurfacing

The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, for five nights from Monday 27 April. Work on Friday night will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A25 and A21 to join the M25 at junction 5.

A1(M) junction 1, Hertfordshire: resurfacing

The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 6am, on Friday 1 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 22 of the M25, the A1081 and A414.

A1(M) junction 4 – 6 Hertfordshire: technology work

The northbound carriageway and slip roads will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 5am, for four nights from Monday 27 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A6129, and B197.

A1(M) junction 5, Hertfordshire: resurfacing

The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am for five nights from Monday 27 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B197.

A2 Dartford Heath, Kent: horticulture work

The westbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Wednesday 29 April. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via the A2 eastbound to M25 junction 2 roundabout and return. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place to the A223 junction and return.

The eastbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 30 April. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via the A2 westbound to the A223 junction. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via the M25 junction 2 roundabout.

A3 Painshill, Surrey: horticulture work

The northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 5am, on Friday 1 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Esher junction.

A13/M25 junction 30, Thurrock, Essex: major improvement

Narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit are in place with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day. There will be additional overnight lane and slip road closures as required. All closures will have a clearly signed diversion in place.

A13 Grays, Essex: resurfacing

The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Tuesday 28 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 junction 30 exit and the A1306.

The westbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Wednesday 29 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1012 and Arterial Road West Thurrock.

The eastbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Thursday 30 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A128 Brentwood junction.

A13 Wennington to North Stifford, Essex: major improvement

The westbound carriageway from the Grays junction (A1012) including entry slip roads from the A1012, A126 and M25 junction 30 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Monday 27 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1012, West Thurrock Arterial Road and A1306 to Wennington interchange.

A282 junction 1a, Kent: Dart Charge construction work

The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8:30pm and 5.30am, for three nights from Monday 27 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 1b on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday 29 April the diversion will be via junction 2.

A282 junction 1b, Kent: Dart Charge construction work

The southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Wednesday 29 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 2.

A282 junctions 1b to 2, Kent: Dart Charge construction work

The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Tuesday 28 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the link road.

A282 (M25) Dartford – Thurrock Crossing: Maintenance work

The following closures will be in place, with a fully signed diversion for oversized vehicles for the northbound east tunnel closures.

  • Monday 27 April (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Tuesday 28 April (8.30pm to 5:30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Wednesday 29 April (8.30pm to 5:30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Thursday 30 April (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound east tunnel closure
  • Friday 1 May (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound east tunnel closure

The QEII Bridge will have three (of four) lanes closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, for two nights from Tuesday 28 April.

A406, London Borough of Redbridge: carriageway sweeping

The eastbound link road to the M11 northbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 27 April and between 11pm and 5am on Friday 1 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Redbridge roundabout.

The westbound link road to the M11 northbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 30 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Waterworks roundabout.
