M1 junction 3 London Gateway Services: electrical work

Work to improve journeys by carrying out electrical work will start this week. The southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Wednesday 19 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 1.

M1 junction 5 Watford, Hertfordshire: litter clearance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance will start this week. The southbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 5am, on Friday 21 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the entry slip road via the M1 northbound to junction 6 and return. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the exit slip road via junction 4.

M1 junction 6a (M25), Hertfordshire: litter clearance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance will start this week. The southbound link roads to the M25 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 20 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 6 and the A405 to M25 junction 21a.

M4 junctions 1 Chiswick to 3 Hounslow, Greater London: drainage work

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance will start this week. The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Tuesday 18 August for 4 nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A4.

M4 junction 4b (M25), Middlesex: electrical work

Work to improve journeys by carrying out electrical work will start this week. The eastbound link road to the M25 anti-clockwise will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 20 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 clockwise to junction 16, the M40 eastbound to junction 1 and return.

M11 junction 6 (M25), Essex: carriageway sweeping

Work to improve journeys by sweeping the carriageway will start this week. The southbound link road to the M25 clockwise will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Wednesday 19 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 anti-clockwise to junction 26 and return.

M20 junctions 1 Swanley to 3 (M26), Kent: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing continues this week. The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 17 August for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A20 and M26. The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Wednesday 19 August for 3 nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M26 and A20.

M25 junction 2 Bexleyheath, Kent: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing will start this week. The anti-clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Wednesday 19 August for 3 nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 1b.

M25 junction 5 Sevenoaks, Kent: litter clearance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance will start this week. The anti-clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 17 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M26, A21 and A25. The clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 18 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A25.

M25 Cobham Motorway Services Area, Surrey: carriageway sweeping

Work to improve journeys by sweeping the carriageway will start this week. The clockwise and anti-clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, at separate times between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 17 August. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junction 9 and junction 10.

M25 junction 10 (A3) Guildford, Surrey: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out fine milling surfacing will continue this week. The anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 17 August for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 clockwise to junction 11 and return. The clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 17 August for 5 nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 11.

M25 junctions 19 Watford to 21a St Albans, Hertfordshire: bridge joint replacement work

The clockwise carriageway including the entry slip roads at junctions 19, 20 and 21 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 9am, on Saturday 22 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A41, Hunton Bridge and A405 to M25 junction 21a.

M25 junction 21 (M1), Hertfordshire: litter clearance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance will start this week. The anti-clockwise link road to the M1 northbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 18 August and Thursday 20 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 20. The clockwise link road to the M1 northbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Wednesday 19 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 21 and the A405.

M25 junction 21a St Albans, Hertfordshire: litter clearance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out litter clearance will start this week. The clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 17 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the entry slip road via the M25 anti-clockwise to junction 20 and return. Work to improve journeys by sweeping the carriageway will start this week. The anti-clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 18 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the entry slip road via the M25 clockwise to junction 26 and return. M25 junction 26 Waltham Abbey, Essex: carriageway sweeping

Work to improve journeys by carrying out carriageway sweeping will start this week. The anti-clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 17 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the entry slip road via the M25 clockwise to junction 28 and return. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the exit slip road via junction 25.

M25 junction 28 Brentford, Essex: junction improvement

Work to improve journeys by carrying out improvements will continue this week. The anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 18 August for 4 nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 clockwise to junction 29 and return.

M25 junction 29 Romford, Thurrock, Essex: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing will start this week. The anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 17 August for 5 nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 clockwise to junction 30 and return.

M25 junction 31 Lakeside, Essex: Dart charge construction work

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing will continue this week. The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 17 August for 7 nights. Work on Friday night will be between 11pm and 6am. Work on Saturday night will be between 10pm and 8am. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 30.

M40 junction 1a (M25), Buckinghamshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing will start this week. The westbound link road to the M25 anti-clockwise will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 17 August for 4 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 clockwise to junction 17 and return.

A1(M) junctions 4 Hertford to 2 Welham Green, Hertfordshire: carriageway inspection

Work to improve journeys by carrying out carriageway inspections starts this week. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Monday 17 August for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1001.

A3 Hook Bypass – A244 Esher, Surrey: footbridge replacement

Work to improve safety by replacing a footbridge will start this week. The carriageway in both directions and the Esher entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 7am, on Saturday 22 August and between 10pm and 5.30am on Sunday 23 August. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A244, A307 and A309.

A13/M25 junction 30 Thurrock, Essex: major improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve safety continues this week as part of a major scheme to widen the A13 and the M25 junction 30 roundabout and slip roads. Narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit are in place with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day. There will be additional overnight lane and slip road closures as required. All closures will have a clearly signed diversion in place. The westbound A13 carriageway between North Stifford and Wennington, including the entry slip roads from the A126 and the M25 junction 30, will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 17 August for 2 nights.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1012, West Thurrock Arterial Road and the A1306. The eastbound A13 carriageway between Wennington and North Stifford, including the entry slip road from the M25 junction 30 roundabout, will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Wednesday 19 August for 3 nights. Work on Friday night will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1306, West Thurrock Arterial Road and the A1012.

A23 Hooley, Surrey: gas main replacement work

Road users are advised that Southern Gas Networks’ roadworks on the A23 to replace the gas main continue this week. The work started on Monday 27 July and is expected to last approximately 7 weeks. There will be narrow lanes and a 20mph speed limit in place for the duration of the work. Access to and from Church Lane and Star Lane will be closed throughout the project with signed diversions in place. For more information about the work visit the SGN website.

A282 junction 1a Swanscombe, Kent: Dart Charge construction work / tunnel maintenance

Work to improve journeys at the Dartford Crossing will continue this week. The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8.30pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 18 August for 2 nights and from Friday 21 August for 3 nights. Work on Friday night will be between 9.30pm and 5.30am. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A282 southbound to junction 1b and return.

A282 (M25) Dartford – Thurrock Crossing: maintenance work

Work to improve journeys at the Dartford Crossing will continue this week. The following closures will be in place, with a fully signed diversion for oversized vehicles for the northbound east tunnel closures:

  • Monday 17 August (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound east tunnel

  • Tuesday 18 August (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel

  • Wednesday 19 August (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel

  • Friday 21 August (9.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel

  • Saturday 22 August (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel

  • Sunday 23 August (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel

The QEII Bridge will have 3 (of 4) lanes closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 17 August for 7 nights. Work on Friday night will be between 11pm and 6am.
