Planned roadworks in and around the M25: Weekly summary for Monday 11 May - Sunday 17 May

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 7 May 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M1 junctions 2 to 3, Greater London: Carriageway resurfacing

The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Monday 11 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A406 to the Brent Cross interchange and A41 before joining the M1 at junction 4.

M1 junction 5, Hertfordshire: Litter clearance

The southbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 5am, on Friday 15 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the entry slip road via the junction 6. A clearly signed diversion will be in place for the exit slip road via junction 4.

M4 junction 4b, Greater London: Carriageway resurfacing

The westbound link road to the M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise carriageways will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Saturday 16 May for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 5.

M4 junction 5, Middlesex: Carriageway resurfacing

The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Wednesday 13 May for three nights. Work on Friday night will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 6.

M11 junction 6, Essex: Carriageway sweeping

The north and south bound link roads to the M25 anti-clockwise will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Saturday 16 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 28 of the M25.

M25 junctions 6 to 5 Clacket Lane Services, Surrey: Carriageway resurfacing

The anti-clockwise exit slip road into the motorway services area will be closed overnight, between 10.30pm and 5.30am, on Sunday 17 May. The next available services will be Thurrock (M25) or Maidstone (M20).

M25 junction 7, Surrey: Structure maintenance

The anti-clockwise link roads to both carriageways of the M23 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 11 May for five nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 6.

M25 junction 11, Surrey: Carriageway marking

The clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Monday 11 May for five nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via junction 10. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via junction 13.

M25 junction 17, Hertfordshire: Carriageway repair

The clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 11 May. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via the A412 and M40 to rejoin the M25 at junction 16. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via junction 18.

M25 junction 21a, Hertfordshire: Litter clearance

The clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 11 May. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via junction 20. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via junction 22.

The anti-clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 11.30pm and 5am, on Tuesday 12 May. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via junction 22. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via junction 22.

The clockwise link road to the M1 northbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Wednesday 13 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 22.

M25 junction 23, Hertfordshire: Carriageway sweeping

The clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 12 May. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via junction 22. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via junction 24.

M25 junction 24, Hertfordshire: Carriageway sweeping

The clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 11 May. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via junction 23. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via junction 25.

M25 junction 25, Hertfordshire: Carriageway sweeping

The clockwise entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 14 May. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via junction 24. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via junction 26.

M25 junctions 25 to 27, Essex: Tunnel systems testing

Both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, on Saturday 16 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A10, A406 and M11. A clearly signed diversion for the junction 26 entry slip road will be in place via the A121, B1393 and M11.

M25 junction 28, Essex: Resurfacing

The clockwise dedicated link road to the A12 eastbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, from Monday 11 May for five nights. A clearly signed diversion will be available via the junction 28 roundabout.

M26 junction 2a to 1 (M25 junction 5), Kent: Carriageway resurfacing

The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 11 May for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A25 and A20 to join the M25 at junction 3.

The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Wednesday 13 May for three nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 junction 3 and the A20 to join the M26 at junction 2a.

A2 Darenth, Kent: Dart Charge construction work

The westbound dedicated link road to the A282 northbound will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 11 May for five nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the roundabout.

A3 Esher, Surrey: Litter clearance

The southbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 11 May. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via Tolworth junction and return. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via Painshill junction and return.

The northbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Tuesday 12 May. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via Painshill junction and return. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via Tolworth junction and return.

A3 Painshill, Surrey: Litter clearance

The northbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Thursday 14 May. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via Wisley junction and return. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via Esher junction and return.

A3 Wisley, Surrey: Litter clearance

The southbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight, between 11pm and 5am, on Friday 15 May. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip road will be in place via Painshill junction and return. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip road will be in place via Ockham junction.

A13/M25 junction 30, Thurrock, Essex: Major improvement

Narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit are in place with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day. There will be additional overnight lane and slip road closures as required. All closures will have a clearly signed diversion in place.

A13 Wennington to North Stifford, Essex: Major improvement

The eastbound carriageway including the entry slip road from the M25 junction 30 will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 11 May for five nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A1306, West Thurrock Arterial Road and A1012 to A13 North Stifford junction.

A21 Kent: Carriageway sweeping

The northbound link to the M25 clockwise will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5am, on Monday 11 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A21 northbound and junction 4 of the M25.

A282 junction 1a, Kent: Dart Charge construction work

The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 11.30pm and 5.30am, on Monday 11 May. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the exit and entry slip roads.

The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8:30pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 12 May for six nights. A clearly signed diversion for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights will be in place via A282 southbound to junction 2 and return. The diversion for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights will be via A282 southbound to junction 1b and return.

A282 junction 1b, Kent: Dart Charge construction work

The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Tuesday 12 May for three nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 2.

A282 junction 2, Kent: Dart Charge construction work

The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, from Monday 11 May for five nights. Work on Friday will start at 11pm. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the junction 2 roundabout.

A282 (M25) Dartford – Thurrock Crossing: Maintenance work

The following closures will be in place, with a fully signed diversion for oversized vehicles for the northbound east tunnel closures.

  • Monday 11 May (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound east tunnel closure
  • Tuesday 12 May (8.30pm to 5:30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Wednesday 13 May (8.30pm to 5:30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Thursday 14 May (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Friday 15 May (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Saturday 16 May (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure
  • Sunday 17 May (8.30pm to 5.30am): northbound west tunnel closure
