Planned road works in West Midlands: weekly summary for Monday 6 July to Sunday 12 July 2015

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 2 July 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

A46 Binley Woods to Toll Bar Island, Coventry: carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing

The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight between 4 July and 13 July, with the followings timings:

  • from 6pm on 4 July to 9am on 5 July
  • from 6pm on 5 July to 6am on 6 July
  • from 8pm on 6 July to 6am on 7 July
  • from 8pm on 7 July to 6am on 8 July
  • from 8pm on 8 July to 6am on 9 July
  • from 8pm on 9 July to 6am on 10 July
  • from 8pm on 10 July to 9am on 11 July
  • from 6pm on 11 July to 9am on 12 July
  • from 6pm on 12 July to 6am on 13 July

Diversions will be clearly signed and will divert motorists off the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass southbound onto the A428 Binley Road. Drivers should continue along the A428 until the junction with the A4082 Allard Way, and then turn left. The diversion then takes drivers to London Road roundabout, where they should turn left on to the B4110 leading to Tollbar roundabout, where the diversion ends.

A46 Toll Bar Island to Binley Woods Island, Coventry: carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing

The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight between 10 July and 13 July, with the following timings:

  • from 8pm on 10 July to 9am on 11 July
  • from 6pm on 11 July to 9am on 12 July
  • from 6pm on 12 July to 6am on 13 July

During the northbound closures, traffic will be diverted off the Tollbar roundabout on to the B4110 London Road. At the London Road roundabout, motorists should turn right on to the A4082 Allard Way and then right on to the A428 Binley Road leading to Binley Woods roundabout, where the diversion ends.

A5 Weeford to M42 Junction 10, Staffordshire: carriageway resurfacing

The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 6 July until 12 July. These works will not be in place over the weekends. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Muckley Corner to Wall Island, Staffordshire: carriageway works

The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 6 July until 12 July. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5, M54 Junction 7 to Preston Boats (A5/A49) Island, Shropshire: resurfacing

The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 6 July until 12 July. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5, B5080 entry slip, Staffordshire: resurfacing

The eastbound entry slip will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 6 July until 12 July. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M42 Junction 3a to 4 including Junction 4 entry road, West Midlands: renewal of overhead signage

The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight for one night from 8pm 6 July until 6am the following morning (7 July). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M42 Junction 5 exit road, West Midlands: renewal of overhead signage

The northbound exit road will be closed overnight for one night from 8pm 8 July until 6am the following morning (9 July). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M5 Junction 4 both directions, West Midlands: widening scheme

The carriageway will be closed in both directions overnight between 9pm and 6am from 6 July to 31 July. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 Junction 6 Gravelly Hill Interchange, West Midlands: re-waterproofing and structural repairs

There will be a full 24-hour eastbound link road closure from 6 July ongoing until 6am 30 November. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 Junction 9, Wednesbury, West Midlands: re-waterproofing and structural repairs

There will be a full 24-hour southbound entry road closure from 6 July ongoing until 6am 20 November. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 Junction 13 exit road, West Midlands: carriageway work

The northbound exit road will be closed overnight for one night from 10pm 6 July until 6am the following morning (7 July). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 Junction 12 to 10a, West Midlands: gantry work

The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight for one night from 10pm 9 July until 6am the following morning (10 July). A diversion route will be clearly signposted. M6 Junction 10a to 12 including Junction 11 Entry Road, West Midlands: Resurfacing

The northbound carriageway and entry road will be closed overnight for one night from 10pm 10 July until 6am the following morning (11 July). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
