Planned road works in West Midlands: weekly summary for Monday 18 to Sunday 24 January 2016

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 14 January 2016 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

A45/A46 Tollbar Island, West Midlands: carriageway work

On Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 January, the A45 Stonebridge highway westbound will be closed at Stivichall junction overbridge between 9.30am and 3.30pm. This daytime closure is necessary as weather reports for Monday and Tuesday night suggest overnight work will not be possible. We will monitor daytime traffic and remove this closure if it has adverse effects.

Starting at 8pm on Wednesday 20 January, the A45 Stonebridge highways eastbound will be closed until 6am. The eastbound road will also be closed between 8pm on Thursday 21 January and 6am on 22 January, and again from 8pm on Friday 22 January until 6am on Saturday 23.

A49 between A4113 Bromfield and B4368 Craven Arms, West Midlands: urgent parapet repairs

The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 8pm on 22 January until 6am on 24 January. Please note these works are 24-hour working over the weekend. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A49 Bayston Hill, West Midlands: carriageway resurfacing

The carriageway will be closed in both directions overnight between 8pm and 6am from 18 January until 22 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A49 Starting Gate roundabout to A49/A417, West Midlands: carriageway resurfacing

The carriageway will be closed in both directions overnight for two nights between 10pm and 6am from 18 January until 20 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Churchbridge to Washbrook Lane, West Midlands: footway widening

The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 18 January until 24 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Watling Street/Longford Island, West Midlands: carriageway resurfacing

The carriageway will be closed in both directions overnight for one night from 7pm on 18 January until 6am the following morning (19 January). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Washbrook Lane to Rising Sun roundabout, West Midlands: footway widening

The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight between 8pm and 8am from 18 January until 24 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

A5 Rising Sun roundabout to the Parade junction, West Midlands: footway widening

The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight between 8pm and 8am from 18 January until 24 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 18 January until 23 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M5 junction 5 entry slip, West Midlands: installation of narrow lanes

The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 18 January until 22 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M5 junction 6 entry and exit slip roads, West Midlands: construction work

The northbound and southbound slip roads will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 18 January until 24 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M54 junction 3 entry slip, West Midlands: concrete barrier work

The eastbound entry slip road will be closed overnight for one night from 8pm on 18 January until 6am the following morning (19 January). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 5 entry slip, West Midlands: bridge repairs

There will be a 24 hour southbound entry slip closure from 18 January ongoing until 6am on 30 June. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 5 and slip roads, West Midlands: emergency barrier repairs

The northbound carriageway and slip roads will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 18 January until 23 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 10 including entry slip road, West Midlands: carriageway works

The southbound carriageway including the entry slip will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 18 January until 23 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 2 exit slip, West Midlands: safety critical barrier repairs

The southbound exit slip will be closed overnight for two nights between 8pm and 6am from 18 January until 20 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 16 northbound exit slip and southbound entry slip, West Midlands: litter clearance

The northbound exit slip and southbound entry slip will be closed overnight for two nights between 9pm and 5am from 21l January until 23 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 13 to junction 11, West Midlands: carriageway work

The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight for one night from 10pm on 22 January until 8am the following morning (23 January). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

M6 junction 11 to junction 13, including junction 11 and junction 12 entry slip roads, West Midlands: carriageway work

The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight for one night from 10pm on 23 January until 8am the following morning (24 January). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
