Press release

Overnight lane closures for M62 safety improvement work

Road users are being advised that tonight and tomorrow night there will be lane closures on the M62 near Tingley for resurfacing work to improve journeys.

The work, which will include white lining and stud replacement, is designed to prolong the life of the carriageway and maintain the safety of the motorway.

Tonight (13 August) between 8pm and 6am, the M62 eastbound carriageway and eastbound entry slip road will be closed between junctions 28 (Tingley) and 29 (Lofthouse). On Wednesday 14 August between 8pm and 6pm, the M62 westbound carriageway between junctions 29 (Lofthouse) and 28 (Tingley) and associated entry slip roads will be closed.

In addition, on 14 August the M1 exit slip roads north and southbound linking to the M62 westbound at junction 29 will be closed. Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place and 50mph speed limit will be in place to ensure driver safety.
