Overnight closures planned for M18 in Sheffield
Work to improve the M18 from its junction with the M1 through to junction 3 (Doncaster South) will begin next month.

From Tuesday 1 September parts of the hard shoulder will be closed during the day to allow drainage CCTV surveys to be carried out. Following the surveys, essential maintenance work will then be carried out.
The hard shoulder closures will be in 0.7 mile sections and will be on both sides of the carriageway until the end of November.
There will also be night time closures of lane one between the M18 junction with the M1 at Sheffield through to M18 junction 2 (Wadworth) for barrier and drainage maintenance to be carried out.
Highways England project manager, Arun Sahni, said:
This work will maintain road safety by replacing barriers which have reached the end of their working life and the repairs to the drainage systems will reduce the risk of road flooding.
It is being carried out at night to cause the least possible inconvenience, however we would still advise road users to allow slightly longer for their journeys.
