The work, which will involve renewing a series of bridge joints, will take place on the northbound A1(M) at junction 6.

The road will be closed from 10pm until 5am from Monday (21 September) for 8 nights.

During the closure traffic will be diverted off the A1(M) at junction 6, onto the A1000 to Clock roundabout and re-join the A1(M) northbound at junction 6.

Highways England project manager Mark Saunders said:

We will be working on 6 bridge joints in total and will need a total closure in order for the work to be carried out safely.

We’re advising motorists affected by this work to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel.
