Press release

Overnight closures of the A45 Stonebridge Highway in Coventry

Three overnight closures of the A45 Stonebridge Highway westbound will take place this week.

On Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights (14, 15 and 17 January), the A45 Stonebridge Highway westbound carriageway will be closed between Tollbar and Stivichall roundabouts. The closures will be between 8pm and 6am and will enable resurfacing work and traffic management changes to take place.

Also on Saturday night (17 January) between 8pm and 6am, the A45 Stonebridge Highway eastbound carriageway will have a lane closure, to allow paving and road marking work to take place for the opening of the new exit slip road for road users travelling east along the A45 Stonebridge Highway.

Highways Agency Project Manager, Paul Nagra, said:

The layout would be unfamiliar to motorists and I would like to remind them to take extra care and allow additional time for their journeys.

Historically, the junction has been a very busy one and the improvements we are undertaking will have long-term benefits for road users by improving the flow of traffic.

A clearly marked diversion route will be in place. Traffic will be diverted from the Tollbar roundabout onto the B4110 London Road. Then at the roundabout motorists can turn left onto the A4082 and head towards the A444 to re-join Stivichall roundabout.
