Overnight carriageway closures between 10pm and 6am are planned for Friday 24 April (eastbound) and Sunday 26 April (westbound)) and Sunday 26 April (eastbound) in preparation for a 24 hour contraflow system which will be installed in late April and early May.

During these closures a clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A33 and A4 Bath Road. Confirmed dates will also be displayed in advance of the closures on black and yellow signs along the M4.

For the safety of the workforce and our customers, the contraflow system with a 50mph speed restriction will remain in place until the end of July 2015. Road users are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time.
