Open market process for the Tote launches

Following the announcement made in the June Budget to resolve the future of the Tote over the next 12 months, the Government today announced that:

• an open market process will be launched in late Autumn which will invite proposals for the business from all interested parties
• proposals will be welcome from both private bidders and other parties

The Government will be liaising closely with the Board of the Tote and with racing interests. An update is expected early in 2011.
