Press release

Press briefing: afternoon 10 March 2011

The Prime Minister's Spokesperson (PMS) answered questions on unions and minister numbers.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Minister numbers

Asked if the Prime Minister would be studying the Public Administration Committee’s report recommending a reduction in the number of ministers, the PMS said we will consider the findings of the report.

Unions

Asked if the Prime Minister was concerned about a threat of strike action from public service unions, the PMS said that we had a very clear position on strikes and would not speculate about what may or may not happen. We thought it best to get round the table and discuss things.
