New Year's Honours 2013
Local Government Minister Baroness Hanham congratulates all those recognised in the New Year Honours.
Congratulations to all those working in the local government, housing, fire and voluntary and community sector who have been recognised in the New Year Honours list which acknowledges their extraordinary contribution to society.

Those who have received honours for services to the local government sector:
- Peter Jones, Leader of East Sussex County Council receives a CBE for services to local government in the South East
- Caroline Tapster, lately Chief Executive of Hertfordshire County Council receives a CBE for services to local government
- Ian Greenwood, lately Leader of Bradford City Council receives an OBE for services to local government
- Roger Kelly, lately Chief Executive of Gateshead Council receives an OBE for services to local government and the community in Gateshead and the North East
