New GCHQ cyber security competition

Test your cyber security skills in a new competition from GCHQ.

If you’re interested in a potential career in cyber security, GCHQ have launched a competition on keeping information safe from cyber attacks. The game invites participants to defend their company’s intellectual property against cyber threats. Find out more.

Countering cyber attacks and preserving the safety of systems has become an incredibly complex challenge in recent years, and threats to cyber security are currently on an unprecedented scale. Games like these help to encourage people to develop their cyber skills, provide young people with positive channels for their talents and demonstrate career routes into becoming a respected information security professional.

Those interested in testing their potential for a career in cyber security through this competition can register on the Cyber Security Challenge website until 19 July 2013. Registered candidates will be able to submit their answers for 2 weeks from 22 July to 2 August.

The top 15 players from the game will be invited to a face-to-face semi-final contest. Places are also available at unique 4-day cyber camps, offering candidates hands-on learning experience from professionals and unique insights into what it’s like to work in the cyber security industry.
