The new Workforce Management agreement has been developed to help the NHS manage their workforce in an efficient way, by increasing the use of flexible workers (known as bank workers in the NHS).

A major priority for the NHS is creating greater efficiencies and improved service delivery. By helping them better manage their existing workforce through the flexible and effective use of workforce management services the agreement will help trusts make significant cost savings.

In 2014/15 the Crown Commercial Service helped save the NHS in excess of £343 million and this new agreement is one of a number of initiatives designed to help the NHS make further savings.
