Nepal travel advice - nationwide strike on 15 August

A nationwide strike has been called in Nepal on 15 August 2010. Transport disruptions are possible.

The Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) has announced a nationwide strike on 15 August 2010. Transport could be disrupted; roads and highways could be blocked.

You are advised to avoid all demonstrations and large gatherings and remain vigilant at all times. You should take local advice from tour operators and travellers should allow extra time for their journeys.
