This week, artists, bands and music fans pay tribute to British music through a number of exciting events and appearances. Find out how you can get involved.
Music is GREAT Week starts on 14 May, and will involve seven days of musical celebration. Details will be announced via the Music is GREAT Britain Facebook page, and in collaboration with Music is GREAT partners.
Music is GREAT Week will be the platform for fans and critics to debate what’s GREAT about British music and the amazing experiences that go with it: What was the best live show you’ve been to in the UK? Which gig did you camp out at the night before in order to attend? What ticket was your most sought after? To join the conversation, visit the Music is GREAT Britain Facebook page or tweet @GREATBritain.
As part of Music is GREAT week, a DVD and download compilation is being released on May 14. This celebrates the most iconic British live music acts through history, and includes film footage and audio of legendary performances - from David Bowie’s performance of ‘Ziggy Stardust’ at Hammersmith in 1973, to Radiohead’s 1997 performance of ‘Karma Police’ at Glastonbury, right through to 2011 when Adele performed ‘Someone Like You’ at The BRIT Awards.
All net profits will go to charity Save The Children. Get the download from iTunes.
