Minister for Europe delivers first overseas speech in Stockholm

Minister for Europe David Lidington met with his Swedish and Polish counterparts before delivering a speech in Stockholm

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Mr Lidington delivered his first overseas speech as Europe Minister at the Swedish Institute for Business and Policy studies in Stockholm. The speech was entitled ‘Getting Europe back to work’.

Before his speech, the Minister met with two European counterparts: Birgitta Ohlsson, Sweden’s Minister for Europe, and Mikolaj Dowgieliewicz, Europe Minister for Poland. Mr Lidington also held talks with Anna Kinberg Batra, Chair of the Swedish Parliamentary EU Scrutiny Committee.
