Military Wives Choir sing for personnel returning from Libya

PM to service personnel: the nation owes you a very big thank you.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

A choir composed of military wives from Plymouth and North Devon, led by choirmaster Gareth Malone has performed carols for armed service personnel arriving for a Downing Street reception with Prime Minister David Cameron.

The Prime Minister praised the servicemen and women for their courage and professionalism in Libya:

I don’t think there’s any party or reception that has given me quite such an honour to hold as the one today because everyone I’m looking at in this room gave incredible service to their country in the operations in Libya, over the skies of Libya, on the sea and also on the ground.

The first thing I want to say is just an absolutely massive thank you for all that you did and the incredible courage, professionalism and dedication that you showed.
