At a recent visit to South London and Maudsley in April 2016, Martha Lane Fox talked further about the need for wifi in hospitals and improving digital capabilities.

A digital NHS for everyone

At the National Information Board (NIB) Leadership Summit on 8 December 2015, Martha Lane Fox presented her 4 recommendations for areas that should be prioritised to drive forward digital inclusion and take up of digital technologies.

Those recommendations were:

  • providing free wifi through the NHS
  • prioritising the hardest to reach groups in our digital work
  • enabling the NHS workforce to support patients in using digital services
  • promoting awareness and take up, specifically of online primary care services
