Marking Remembrance Day

Foreign Office Ministers and staff in London and overseas have marked Remembrance Day 2010 with events, blogs and video messages.

British Ambassador to Ukraine Leigh Turner explained why he wears a poppy in his blog. On Friday he wrote about the ceremony organised by the British and Canadian embassies in Kyiv.

Colonel Jerry Heal (Royal Marines) is the Defence Adviser at the British High Commission in South Africa. He talks about the Royal British Legion’s poppy appeal in his video message:

Our embassy in Kuwait invited local school children to lay a poppy field in the Embassy.
