In this video, Frances Patterson makes the following points:

• i am delighted to see that in the white paper, the government has embraced the recommendations of the Law Commission
• in particular the provisions proposed in the draft Care and Support Bill in relation to carers which we believe will significantly improve the position in relation to them
• the provision for portability, so that when a service user moves from one part of the country to another they will know that they will receive their care package until they are reassessed
• the Law Commission is extremely pleased with what the government has done by way of response, and the content of the draft Bill
