Landslides in China

Foreign Office Minister Henry Bellingham has made a statement following reports of the landslides in Zhouqu County, Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture of Gansu province this weekend.

Minister Bellingham said:

“The flooding of recent weeks and subsequent landslides over the weekend are a terrible tragedy. I offer my sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have died and send my deepest sympathy to the millions of people whose lives have been affected. The British Government stands ready to provide any technical assistance, advice and expertise we can.”
