Knighthood and Damehoods conferred: February 2016

The Queen has conferred DBEs (Dame of the British Empire) on Bobbie Cheema-Grubb and Juliet Mary May. She has conferred a Knighthood on Michael Alexander Soole.

The Queen has been pleased to approve that the honour of DBE be conferred upon Bobbie Cheema-Grubb QC and Her Honour Judge Juliet Mary May QC, and that the honour of Knighthood be conferred upon Michael Alexander Soole QC, following their appointment as Justices of the High Court.

Notes for editors

Bobbie Cheema-Grubb was called to the Bar in 1989 and took Silk in 2013. She was appointed as a Recorder in 2007 and is approved to sit as a Deputy High Court Judge. 

Juliet Mary May was called to the Bar in 1988 and took Silk in 2008. She was appointed as a Circuit Judge in 2008 and is approved to sit as a Deputy High Court Judge.

Michael Alexander Soole was called to the Bar in 1977 and took Silk in 2002. He was appointed as an Assistant Recorder in 1999 and as a Recorder in 2000. He is also approved to sit as a Deputy High Court Judge.
