Kamaljit Singh and Terry Connor have been re-appointed to the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass) board for a second term of office by the Government.

Kamaljit Singh has been re-appointed for another two-year term and Terry Connor for one year. Both were originally appointed for three years in April 2010.

Kamaljit Singh is a solicitor and the team manager for the social care and education legal team in London’s first shared legal service advising Merton and Richmond Councils. She advises on law and policy relating to children, special educational needs, mental health and adults. She is a member of the Law Society’s children’s panel and was previously vice-chair and acting chair of West London Mental Health NHS Trust. She is also a member of the London Family Justice Board.

Terry Connor retired as chief executive of Cabrini Children’s Society, a voluntary child care organisation and adoption agency, in autumn 2012. He has extensive experience as a practitioner and manager in the public and voluntary sectors and is registered with the Health Professions Council. He served for 6 years as chair of the British Association of Adoption and Fostering. He is also a former trustee and vice chair of Children England and was the founding chair of Caritas Social Action. Terry is currently a trustee of Families for Children, a voluntary adoption agency in the south-west, and of the Institute for Voluntary Action Research. He was awarded a papal knighthood in December 2012 for services to children and families.
