Thereafter, BIS will make an interim appointment to replace Peter Freeman while the Government consults on how to merge the Competition Commission with the competition and markets investigation functions of the Office of Fair Trading.
This approach will ensure that the Competition Commission will continue to have appropriate senior leadership.
