Inspection announcement: An inspection of the Home Office’s role in managing high-harm foreign national offenders in the community and the effectiveness of the operating model in delivering Immigration Enforcement’s public protection objectives
In line with his 2026-27 Inspection Plan, the Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration (ICIBI) has commenced an inspection of the Home Office’s role in managing high-harm foreign national offenders in the community and the effectiveness of the operating model in delivering Immigration Enforcement’s public protection objectives
The inspection will have a particular focus on:
- the identification of high-harm foreign national offenders
- the oversight and prioritisation of high-harm cases
- partnership engagement and information sharing with relevant agencies
The inspection team anticipates reporting to the Home Secretary by January 2027.
