IAA secures interim injunction against unauthorised adviser

Shazia Anjum is prohibited by the interim injunction from providing or advertising immigration advice and/or services under the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.

On 12 December 2025, the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) obtained an interim injunction from Chelmsford County Court against Shazia Anjum. The Order, which remains in effect until further notice, prohibits her from the following:

  • providing immigration advice and/ or services in contravention of section 84 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (the “Act”); and
  • advertising or promoting herself as being able to provide immigration advice and/or services in contravention of section 92B of the Act

A breach of this Order may result in Shazia Anjum being held in contempt of court.

This action was taken to protect the public and ensure compliance with the Act, which requires that only authorised persons may provide immigration advice and/or services. Failure to comply with these provisions is a serious offence and may lead to criminal prosecution.

If you become aware that Shazia Anjum is providing immigration advice and/ or services, or advertising herself as being able to provide such services, please notify the IAA immediately by submitting a report through the Report It tool.

Members of the public are reminded to seek immigration advice only from individuals or organisations that are properly regulated and authorised. To verify an adviser’s authorisation, check the Adviser Register and ensure that their website features the IAA Yoshki digital verification badge, demonstrating they are regulated by the IAA.
