GREAT Week South Korea

The British Embassy Seoul and the UK Trade and Investment team have unveiled plans for the forthcoming GREAT Week South Korea.

The British Embassy Seoul and the UK Trade and Investment team have unveiled plans for the forthcoming GREAT Week South Korea.

GREAT Weeks are programmes of trade missions from the UK for the creative, retail, luxury, and food and drink sectors. They are organised by UK Trade & Investment in collaboration with industry experts in some of the world’s fastest growing markets.

GREAT Week South Korea runs from March 31st to April 4th and the UK delegation will feature over 45 British companies.

The GREAT Week South Korea aims to create outstanding opportunities for UK companies to access international business prospects and meet key decision makers with a special focus on the fashion, luxury and Food and Drink industries. It is an exciting platform promoting the very best of UK creative talent. The 45 British companies will build lasting new relationships and forge new partnerships with businesses in South Korea.

Trade Sectors at GREAT Week Korea

GREAT Week Korea will focus on three trade sectors where British-Korean trade and expertise are at their strongest;

Design

  • Commercial interior design
  • Design and branding services
  • Product design

Fashion

  • Accessories
  • Footwear
  • Menswear and womenswear

Food and drink

  • Beer & spirits
  • Dairy and Cheese
  • Confectionery, bakery and biscuits
  • Condiments and sauces
  • Meat

Speaking ahead of the event, Ambassador Scott Wightman said:

Korean consumers are renowned worldwide for their enthusiasm for outstanding design, for setting fashion trends and their openness to innovation and other cultures. They value craftsmanship and are always looking for the new, the bold and the original.

The GREAT British companies taking part in GREAT Week offer Korean consumers all of these qualities. We are looking forward to bringing the companies together with Korean partners so that Korean consumers can enjoy their goods and so that Korean and British business can prosper.

Tuesday 1st April

  • UK Design Seminar, followed by one-to-one speed networking, British Embassy, Aston Hall
  • Fashion Showcase, Grand Ballroom, Plaza Hotel
  • Food & Drink: Taste of Britain networking dinner, Grand Hyatt

Wednesday 2nd April

  • Design briefing: Winter Olympics High Value Opportunities (HVO), British Embassy, Aston Hall
  • Fashion Showcase Grand Ballroom, Plaza Hotel
  • UK Food & Drink Festival, British Embassy, Residence garden
  • Fashion, Food & Drink Networking reception, Grand Ballroom, Plaza Hotel

Thursday 3rd April

  • British Beer Festival for Hospitality industry, British Embassy, Broughton’s Bar

Friday 4th April

  • Free time and private meetings for delegates
