Passports and visas
- You don’t need a visa to travel to Germany, but your passport should be valid for the duration of your trip.
- Remember your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) but also take out travel insurance, even if you’re only going for one night - it could save you a lot of money if you get into difficulties
- It is necessary to carry your passport with you – you might need it to gain entry to the stadium with your ticket
- If you lose your passport, you will need to get an Emergency Travel Document from the British Consulate in Munich
Getting to the stadium
- The nearest S-Bahn station is Frankenstadion on the S2 line. The Nurnberg Transport system will be putting on extra trains for supporters attending the game. Remember to buy and validate all tickets before you board a train. The S2 can be taken from the main station, Hauptbahnhof
- Only take yellow coloured taxis with an official taxi sticker and number. Taxi costs will be high on departing the stadium area due to the large amount of traffic
- If travelling as part of an organised tour, please contact the club or the travel agency for more information
At the match
- Gibraltar supporters are seated in block 25C. Entry in via the Südkurve, south end.
- For all UEFA Champions League matches, turnstiles open 120-minutes prior to kick off (6:45pm local time). All supporters must be inside the arena no later than 30-minutes before kick-off
- Only valid ticketholders will be admitted to the ground. People with damaged or forged tickets, or people who have lost or had their tickets stolen will be turned away
- Access to the stadium can be slow. There will be ticket checks and body searches at the entrance to the turnstiles
- In addition to items which would usually be prohibited in the UK, please note the following restrictions at the stadium. No bottles and cans are allowed to be brought into the ground. Flags and banners with metal poles are not allowed
Tips
- As in any other city beware of pickpockets and bag snatchers at airports, railway stations, around the town centre and when using public transport. Only carry what you need and leave spare cash and valuables in hotel safety deposits
- Change money at a bank, hotel, or in exchange kiosks – NOT on the street (it is illegal and counterfeit money is punished by a prison sentence in Germany).
