G8 Foreign Ministers condemn terrorist attack in Moscow
The Foreign Ministers of the G8 countries reiterated their determination to work together to combat and prevent terrorism.
The Foreign Ministers of the G8 countries, including Foreign Secretary William Hague said:
“G8 countries condemn in the strongest terms the deadly terrorist attack that struck Moscow Domodedovo Airport.
They offer their condolences and express their deepest sympathy to the families of the many victims. They assure the authorities of the Russian Federation of their solidarity in these tragic times and stand united in their commitment to bring perpetrators of such barbarous acts to justice.
Nothing can ever justify such massive violence. G8 countries, in cooperation with the entire international community, reiterate their utmost determination to work together to combat and prevent terrorism and violent extremism and the conditions conducive to their spread.
They underscore the priority given to enhancing their cooperative action and partnership aimed at fighting terrorism in accord with the UN Global Counterterrorism Strategy and related Security Council resolutions.”
The countries that make up the G8 are: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Foreign Secretary William Hague condemned the attacks in a statement yesterday.
