The United Nations Security Council this afternoon agreed a statement on humanitarian access to Qusayr.

Commenting today, Foreign Secretary William Hague said:

“I welcome the fact that the UN Security Council has today agreed a statement on the events in Qusayr. It is essential that humanitarian agencies gain full and unfettered access to Qusayr and the surrounding areas, as called for by the Security Council. The Syrian regime must urgently facilitate unrestricted access to Qusayr and throughout Syria, to assist the millions of people now in desperate need of help.”
