Foreign Secretary meets with Cypriot Foreign Minister

Foreign Secretary William Hague met with Cypriot Foreign Minister Markos Kyprianou earlier today.

Following their meeting, the Foreign Secretary said:

“I am pleased that Foreign Minister Kyprianou and I have had the opportunity to hold a meeting this morning. We had a wide ranging discussion and reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening the bilateral relationship. I also expressed my support for the UN’s efforts to achieve a settlement based on a bizonal, bicommunal federation with political equality. We want to see a settlement agreed and successfully implemented to deliver a stable, prosperous and united Cyprus, operating as a valued partner within the EU, at the earliest opportunity.”
