Foreign Office Minister welcomes election of British judge to the International Criminal Court

Foreign Office Minister Henry Bellingham said that Judge Morrison will make a major contribution to the work of the court.

Commenting on the appointment the Foreign Office Minister said:

“I am pleased to welcome the election of Howard Morrison as judge in the International Criminal Court. Judge Morrison will make a major contribution to the work of the Court. From 30 years in criminal law, over 3000 trials, and a decade of involvement in international cases, he will bring vast experience to the Court. His election by the Assembly of States Parties demonstrates their recognition that the International Criminal Court needs international judges of his stature. I congratulate him and the other five successful candidates.”
