Minister for the Middle East and North Africa Alistair Burt said:
“After several months of uncertainty, I am pleased that a new government has now been formed. I hope that government will promote coexistence and dialogue and work to ensure the stability, unity and security of the country. And I hope that all Lebanon’s neighbours, as well as the rest of the international community, will work in support of that stability.
“It is vitally important that the new government also respects Lebanon’s international commitments including to the Special Tribunal, which is working to end to impunity for political assassinations in that country.”
