The GALAPAGOS 3D documentary was shown on Tuesday 9th September in Cinemark, Quito, to an audience of local authorities, government representatives, media and NGOs. It is a British documentary filmed in 3D technology by Atlantic Productions and narrated by the famous British presenter and naturalist, Sir David Attenborough, in the Galapagos Islands.

Attendees were delighted with the film, and were also able to participate in a Q&A session with Michael Davies, whom produced and directed the IMAX version of the film and was visiting the country for other similar projects.

A raffle was drawn at the end of the event, where 3 attendees won tours to the Galápagos Islands. These prizes were generously provided by Metropolitan Touring, Galapagos Travel Center and Klein Tours . A total of USD 2,000, was raised, which will go entirely for the conversation of the ‘pinzón de manglar’ (mangrove finch), via a project implemented by the Charles Darwin Foundation, the Dirección del Parque Nacional Galápagos with support of the San Diego Zoo.

We would like to thank our sponsors and attendees for their collaboration, and wish the winners a joyful trip to the Islands.
