Final call for public to submit their memories for Queen Elizabeth Digital Memorial

Add your memories to the Queen Elizabeth Digital Memorial before the submission portal closes for public contributions.

Sir Richard Branson has today shared his memories of the late Queen, ahead of the final deadline for public submissions.

Launched on 21 April 2026 alongside other memorial plans to mark the centenary of her birth, hundreds of people, including famous faces, have submitted their personal memories of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Cabinet Office is now calling on people to add their memories before the portal for public submissions closes on 31 October. You may have performed for the Queen in a choir, met her on a walkabout in your town, celebrated one of her jubilees with your local community; whatever it is – we want to hear from you.

The Queen Elizabeth Digital Memorial is an interactive website that brings together memories from the public, archive material from a range of international collections, and the first complete official record of the 70 year reign to map key events across the Queen’s life, both geographically and chronologically.

After public submissions close, the Queen Elizabeth Digital Memorial website will continue to celebrate the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The Digital Memorial will work with new archives and partners across the world over the coming years, bringing together newly digitised content to build a deeper and more comprehensive record of Queen Elizabeth’s life and reign.

The Digital Memorial is one of three recommendations made by the Queen Elizabeth Memorial Committee and adopted by HM Government, including the masterplan for a permanent memorial in St James’s Park, London and The Queen Elizabeth Trust, a new charitable trust for regenerating community assets across the United Kingdom.
