Even a Puddle Duck taxed online

DVLA reveals some of the more unusual vehicles that have been taxed or declared off the road via its online service.

The DVLA has today revealed some of the more unusual vehicles that have been taxed or declared off road via its online service.

Last year over 24 million vehicles were taxed or declared off road online or by phone. This means that over half of all motorists went online or used the phone.

The top five vehicle makes that were taxed or declared off road were:

Ford – 19.7 million
Vauxhall – 10 million
Volvo – 8.3 million
Renault – 6.5 million
Peugeot – 6.5 million

Some of the more unusual vehicle makes, included:

Make: Puddle Duck Valiant – Number: 1

Make: Hupmobile – Number: 50

Make: Goggomobil – Number: 66

Make: Peel Trident – Number 678

Carolyn Williams, DVLA’s Head of Electronic Services said:

It’s never been easier to go online or use the phone to tax your vehicle or tell us it’s off the road. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and only takes a few minutes.
