Euan Hutton, Sellafield Ltd Chief Executive Officer
Euan Hutton has advised Sellafield Ltd and the NDA that he intends to stand down as Chief Executive Officer of Sellafield Ltd in July 2027. He will pursue a non-executive career and spend more time with his family.
Euan said:
I first walked through the gates of Sellafield in October 1991 and I could not have dreamed of the opportunities that this special place has given to me. To lead Sellafield has been the greatest honour and privilege of my professional life.
What we do is world leading, but it’s the people that make it happen. I have nothing but admiration and gratitude to each and every one of them that work so hard to deliver our shared mission.
But the time has come to move on to the next phase of my life. In making the announcement now, I can ensure that there is enough time to allow the very best candidate to be found. It will also give an appropriate period of hand-over to take place.
Chris Train, Chair, Sellafield Ltd, said:
Euan has made a huge contribution to the operation of this business for many years, and in particular, for the last three years as CEO. On behalf of the Board and Executive team I would like to thank Euan for his dedication and commitment to our important work.
I am also very grateful to Euan for giving us time to ensure we can identify the right candidate to succeed him. It will ensure we continue to move forward with stability and continued safe and secure delivery of the mission.
David Peattie, Chief Executive Officer, NDA said:
The NDA Group and I have been very lucky to have the support of Euan in such an important role. He’s had a significant impact at Sellafield Ltd and importantly right across the NDA Group. He has brought his considerable technical and leadership abilities to bear. I wish him well for his next chapter, and I look forward to continuing to work with him over the coming months.
A formal search process will now be launched to find Euan’s successor.
