Essential strengthening work on the A19 northbound slip road to the A183, Sunderland
Drivers are advised there will be overnight closures of the A19 northbound slip road to the A183 to carry out essential resurfacing work.
The work will begin on Thursday 25 June for 4 nights until Sunday 29 June. The slip road will be closed overnight from 8pm until 6am.
During the work a speed limit of 50mph will be in place to allow motorists to use the temporary road surface.
Project manager, Kyle Maylard, said:
We need to close the slip road to ensure the safety of the workforce and drivers who use the road. We will be resurfacing and improving the condition of the road and we thank drivers for their patience.
Drivers should follow the diversion route northbound to the A19/1231 interchange and then return southbound to the A19/A183 interchange.
