Eritrea-Djibouti border dispute

Henry Bellingham, Minister for Africa, commends the Governments of Eritrea and Djibouti on the signing of agreement

Welcoming the signing of an agreement on 6 June 2010 by the Presidents of Djibouti and Eritrea, authorising the State of Qatar to mediate in the border dispute between the two countries, Foreign and Commonwealth Minister for Africa Henry Bellingham said:

“I commend the Governments of Eritrea and Djibouti for their efforts to resolve this dispute and the State of Qatar’s commitment to support the process. I hope this is a step on the way to greater peace and stability in the region.

“The Prime Minister congratulated the Prime Minister of Qatar on the progress made on the issue when they met on 5 June 2010. I re-iterate those congratulations.”
