The Department takes a proportionate approach to meeting its Equality Duty. For each function or policy that has the potential to have a substantial effect on discrimination or equality of opportunity, must consider the three aims of the public sector equality duty as part of the decision making process. Some of this work is published in the form of equality impact assessments or analysis.
