New site allows you to see what’s happening to the economy in your local area.

Your Local Economy, allows people around the UK to get a snapshot view of what’s happening near them, from jobs to big building projects.

The easy-to-use website offers specific economic information by clicking a region on the interactive map.

It brings together information from various government departments, meaning the public can now visit one site to find data specific to their region.

Statistics featured include employment figures, and the number of first time buyers who have entered the property market.

The site also details how many new businesses have been created since 2010 along with regional information on start up loans and infrastructure projects.

Up-to-date figures

The statistics give a picture of your local economy under the Coalition Government which was elected in May 2010.

Numbers will be kept as up-to-date as possible, using published information as it becomes available.
