Drivers advised of overnight closures on the A38 near Derby

The A38 northbound between the A38/B5016 Barton-under-Needwood junction and A38/A5121 Branston junction will be closed overnight for four weeks from Tuesday 5 May while the carriageway is resurfaced.

The existing worn out road surface will be replaced with a low noise surface which will reduce traffic noise for local residents and improve safety for all users.

The diversion route for northbound traffic will be at the junction of A38/A513 taking the exit to A513 westbound, Alrewas Road. Continue along A513 westwards to King’s Bromley. At the junction with A515 take the exit to A515 north, sign posted Ashbourne/Uttoxeter. Continue along the A515 northwards to the A38/A50 roundabout at Sudbury. Take the third exit onto the A50 eastbound and continue to its junction with A38/A50 Toyota roundabout.

The closures during May will be at the following times, please be advised that these can be subject to change:

  • Monday to Thursday - 9pm to 6am each night
  • Friday 9pm to 7am Saturday morning
  • Saturday 9pm to 9am Sunday morning
  • Sunday 9pm to 6am Monday morning
