Press release

Drivers advised of M18 junction 4 to 3 overnight closures

The M18 in Doncaster will be closed overnight as part of work to resurface a section of the southbound carriageway at junction 4.

The work will take place from 10 to 21 November, and to minimise any disruption to drivers the closures will take place overnight between 9pm and 6am.

Highways Agency project manager Steven Wright said:

During the overnight closures we will resurface the carriageway and replace road markings and road studs. To make maximum use of the closures and reduce the need for future work in the area we will also carry out a variety of maintenance inspections and work. During the closures diversion routes will be clearly signed and drivers should allow extra time when travelling in the area.

Traffic will exit the motorway at junction 4 and take the third exit at the roundabout onto the A630. Travel 2 miles to the roundabout with the A18 and take second exit. Travel 3 miles to the roundabout with the A6182 and take the first exit. Travel 2 miles to the junction with the M18 and take the second exit to re-join southbound M18 at junction 3.

High sided vehicles (over 15”3’) should exit the M18 at junction 4 and take the third exit at the roundabout onto the A630. Travel 1 mile to the roundabout with Hatfield Lane and take first exit, then continue for 1 mile to the roundabout with Church Street. Take the third exit and continue for 2 miles to roundabout with A18. Travel 2 miles to the roundabout with A6182 then take the first exit onto A6182, continuing 2 miles to junction with M18 junction 3.
