Culture Secretary reappoints Trustee of National Museums Liverpool

Culture Secretary John Whittingdale has reappointed Laura Carstensen as a Trustee of National Museums Liverpool.

Laura Carstensen has been reappointed as Trustee of National Museums Liverpool, for 4 years from 17 October 2015 to 16 October 2019.

Laura Carstensen has held leadership roles in the City, in public service and in business in a career spanning more than thirty years. She has a blue-chip City background having been an equity partner in Slaughter and May (1985 -2004) and subsequently has held a number of Ministerial appointments as well as private sector Board roles. Ministerial appointments have included the Competition Commission (where she served as Deputy Chairman) and the Equality and Human Rights Commission where she has served as a Commissioner since 2013. She has experience of both listed company and private company board directorships. Third sector roles have included being Chair of The Women’s Library. In the North West she is an independent non -executive Director of The Co-operative Bank plc (where she chairs the Values & Ethics Committee) and of Park Group plc.
