Following the publication of latest Labour Market Statistics today, Secretary of State for Wales Cheryl Gillan said:

“The employment figures out today show why the priority for this Government is to transform the economy from the miserable state inherited from the previous administration. By strengthening the economy we will help create more jobs.

“We are committed to continue to do all we can to help businesses in Wales to grow and develop and to help individuals to find work through training and work experience.  We are determined to improve the economy, get people back into work and get Wales moving again.”

The unemployment rate for Wales stands at 9.1%, an increase of 0.1% on the last quarter
