Changes to the Equality and Human Rights Commission

As reform of Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) begins, Baroness Margaret Prosser has been appointed interim Chair.

Baroness Prosser has been Deputy Chair of the EHRC since 2006.

Sarah Anderson, who joined the EHRC as a Commissioner last year, has been appointed interim Deputy Chair. Her previous roles include a number of non-executive directorships in the private and public sector.

Ann Beynon, the Commissioner for Wales, and Kaliani Lyle, the Commissioner for Scotland, have been re-appointed until March 2016.

Recruitment of a successor to Trevor Phillips, the current Chair of the EHRC, is also underway, with Mr Phillips’ third term of public office due to end on 10 September.
