Change of Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Slovak Republic

Susanna Montgomery has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Slovak Republic.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

She will succeed Mr Michael Roberts who has retired from the Diplomatic Service. Ms Montgomery will take up her appointment at the end of August 2011.

Ms Montgomery joined the FCO in 1995. She has worked in a wide range of posts, including Moscow, Paris and the UN in New York.

On her appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Slovak Republic Ms Montgomery said:

“I am delighted to be returning to a country for which I have not only deep affection, but also admiration for what it has achieved. The relationship between Britain and Slovakia continues to grow, and I look forward to doing all I can to help develop it further.”
