Change of Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Finland

Ms Sarah Price has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to Finland.

She will succeed Mr Matthew Lodge, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Ms Price will take up her appointment in January 2014.

Ms Price joined the FCO in 1990 and has worked primarily on European issues, including postings to Prague and Belgrade.

In 1999, she was seconded to the Foreign Ministry in Helsinki where she worked on Finland’s first Presidency of the European Union. Her most recent appointment was as head of the Arabian Peninsula and Iraq Department in London.

On her appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Finland, Ms Price said:

I am honoured and delighted to have the opportunity to return to Helsinki. I look forward to working once again with Finland to achieve our shared objectives across a wide range of foreign policy, security and prosperity questions.
